Sometimes certain aspects of our lives can overwhelm our thoughts and emotions – these can be because of relationship difficulties, bereavement, abuse or trauma. We might be faced with challenging experiences, or may have to suddenly deal with significant changes or hard decisions. 

It can be lonely not knowing who to turn to, not wanting to worry others, or being anxious of judgements from others because of what you are experiencing or feeling. Counselling is a way of sharing the struggle with someone who genuinely cares about you, and who can be by your side as you work things out.

What is counselling therapy?

Counselling offers you a place to talk openly about your difficulties. Often we may feel lost, stuck, or have no one to turn to in times of need – even if we do, we may feel they will be biased, judgemental or too involved with the situation. Counselling provides an understanding and accepting environment, whatever your concerns. 

Therapy offers us the opportunity to achieve a greater understanding of ourselves and our emotional distress in order to facilitate change, a new perspective and the ability to realise our full potential.

Whether it takes a few weeks, a few months, or even longer for you to feel back on top of the situation, I would love to be there for you so it doesn’t feel like you have to manage all on your own. Together we will help you work out your own solutions, and we trust you to be able to find the answers which are right for you.
